Las Vegas Is Overrated

Las Vegas is Spanish for “The Meadows”. What a joke! It is difficult to find a meadow in this desert city. I have lived here for almost two years. I know this is not the greatest amount of time to make me an expert on the subject, but let’s pretend I am.

Las Vegas is one of those places you either love or hate. There is really no gray area where nothing here, now that I think. The climate is hot or cold. Air is a forward or a 90 miles per hour storm. The lights are on or off.

I rode into town on a hot summer night, a girl away from the South. Is there anyone who would not be dazzled by the bright lights and big cities? It is amazing crazy at first. This fear only lasts about a month. After this time, the novelty begins to wear off and you become immune to glare. I’m sure there is not much red tape to unravel, in Las Vegas from other places, but it’s like another planet to a person standing for the first time. You can even get a library card if you do not have first driver’s license in Nevada. If you have an interest beyond drinking, gambling, eating, and clubbing, it will be difficult to find advertisements for activities that suit your taste. I am sure there are other so-called experts will tell you that Las Vegas is full of resources. As an expert that I claim to be introverted, I say there may be resources, but lack of publicity.
